The school press release announcing the decision stressed that Katz will be charged with implementing a blueprint toward more experiential legal education.  Following this evolving law school trend, Sturm will focus on “real-world preparation” for its students.

In the release, Katz acknowledged that blueprint and focus.  “It’s a unique time and a unique set of opportunities at the law school,” Katz said.  “There are significant changes afoot in both the practice of law and in our understanding of how to provide the best legal education possible.”

Katz is a graduate of Yale Law School and has been with the Sturm faculty since 2000.  He specializes in antidiscrimination law within constitutional and employment law.
