Fridays From the Frontline

Welcome to Fridays From the Frontlines, Clear Admit’s weekly tiptoe through the proverbial law school tulips. This week saw applicants make changes to their plans while rising 1Ls ironed out the last bits of their pre-law lives.

oL Doug happily announced his wife’s possible job offer in Florida, and began considering law school in a snow-free location. 0L miss-B decided to postpone her LSAT exam until December. 1L Sue-Ting introduced her father to her blog readers and recounted his ability to mimic television characters. 1L Ricky Nelson finished unpacking and celebrated his blog’s first birthday. 1L Brownbelle outlined the extracurricular activities she would permit herself to join during law school. The Lovely Mrs graduated from college, made the move to her new law school town and then was hospitalized for ten days. UVA ’13 Legal MBAyhem continued her summer food crafts by making her own ricotta and mozzarella cheeses, and bread. 1L Beauty, Brains and Brawn packed a lot into her last week before moving to New Orleans.

NYU ’12 IDWSJ investigated the relative merits of transferring, but prefaced his thoughts by assuring his readers that he wasn’t going anywhere. 2L Esq. thought about how her impending lawyer-hood influenced her choice of friendships. 2L cee experienced pretty severe money problems brought on by car payments, car accidents and paying rent on two different apartments. NCCU ’12 TDOT forgot to turn in critiques for his summer dispute resolution work, but took the route of candor when asked about them by his professor. 2L Life of a Law Student found living at home a bit unbearable after her mother came into her room at 2:45 in the morning to ask her why she hadn’t come to dinner. 2L Law School Ninja expressed how important scheduling and spreadsheets are for picking classes in one’s second year.

Harvard ’11 Ivy Lea couldn’t believe how quickly her summer went by, but happily shared news from her internships and her class schedule for the fall. Marshall ’11 Huma posted less on her blog because she was studying for her Federal Criminal exam, but had plans for a sushi celebration. 3L The Exit shared a few of her law school coping mechanisms, which, perhaps paradoxically, included drugs,  alcohol and therapy. Minnesota ’11 Jansen responded to a 0L’s Facebook question with a post on how to stay organized in law school.

And that wraps up this week’s  investigation into the motivations and events of law school bloggers. We hope that they continue to thrive in this summer heat and we can’t wait to hear more about their summer internships and fall schedules! Until next week, have a great weekend!
