Fridays From the Frontline

Hi there, and welcome back to the fantastic Fridays From the Frontline, Clear Admit’s weekly peek into the lives of law school applicants and students. This week many 0Ls were prepping for their 1L lifestyle, while current students described their struggles with wardrobe.

Though she hung up her ‘gun’ oL Danielle asserted that she learned valuable lessons from her four months of playing Mafia Wars. While many soon-to-be 1Ls focused on filling their brains with legal matters, oL Ricky Nelson decided to spend his time learning healthy and quick recipes and 40-minute exercise routines. oL Lovely Mrs wasn’t yet focusing on meals for the student set, instead she shared a summer sangria recipe. oL Maybe Yes, Maybe No continued her “Getting to Law School” series with a post on how to choose between acceptances. oL ls0lto3l organized her electronic life for optimal usefulness when law school commences.

NYU ’12 Invisible Man found a 9-5 job was a little less than his cup of tea, and struggled with finding the perfect suit for summer. 1L Alex appreciated the talented individuals with whom she was working this summer, and applied her torts class to a run-in with a furnace. NYU ’12 IDWSJ emerged from his  chrysalis and became a social networking butterfly (kind of). Northwestern ’12 Jeremy responded to a reader’s question about how much a paycheck should influence a law firm choice. NCCU ’123 TDOT put together a second list of ways to save money while in law school, including physically attaching oneself to a 2L’s hip and trolling for deals on Craigslist. 2L Julie Anne shared the view from her Cambodian gym, and noted that no guns, boxer shorts or Dobermans were permitted on the premisesColumbia ’12 Soleil enjoyed a rather funny exchange with a college intern, which involved an educational opportunity and snoring.

Harvard ’11 Ivy Lea described her two internships and the different benefits and opportunities they already gave her. Yale ’11 SB recounted a conversation with her boss and her continued efforts to improve her bluebooking abilities. 2L Lisslo felt thrill and terror when she thought about her upcoming student attorney role in her criminal defense clinic. Minnesota ’11 Jansen began attending his summer course in Physical Evidence and wasn’t particularly taken with a guest speaker’s polygraph examples. 2L Law School Ninja outlined what to expect when you are expecting (a legal brief).

And that wraps up this round of looking in on the ‘blawgosphere.’ Until next week, have a great weekend! And if you’re a current applicant memorializing your LSAT/application journey and would like to be included in Fridays From the Frontline, please email us at bob@clearadmit.com.
