Hi there, and welcome to this week’s Fridays From the Frontline, Clear Admit’s rollicking round up of law school applicant and student blogs. As usual, you can count on ‘blawgers’ to keep their content interesting. This week, topics covered spanned 1L school decisions, 2L job opportunities and 3L crocheting.
0L Ricky Nelson decided which school he would like to attend next year, and explained why money and research opportunities clenched the deal. Miami ’12 Goateed 1L was disappointed that he was one of only two representing his first year section at the school’s Barrister Ball, but enjoyed meeting a giant yellow snake. NYU ’12 IDWSJ explained why law school was not the same as high school. Austin ’12 Mariel began to pick and choose her fall semester classes and found balancing her interests to be a challenge. NCCU ’12 TDOT also wrote about his class choices, specifically electives.
Harvard ’11 Ivy Lea survived an insane week of classes and meetings that doubled as meals, and hoped that the worst was behind her. Fellow Harvard classmate Cat gave her readers some advice on how to ‘just say no’ to additional activities that might cause a dip in grades. Northwestern ’11 Jeremy responded to a reader’s request for guidance on how to proceed with a wait list interview. Columbus ’11 Casebook Sherpa pondered the best breed of dog for lawyers and encouraged comments. Minnesota ’11 Jansen considered quitting law school, but his boyfriend and friend convinced him to stick with it.
3L (In)Sanity Gal joined a crochet/knitting group and had three papers to write in two weeks. 3L I’m Nobody expressed a firm dislike of emoticons in all professional correspondence. UVA ’12 Rule 12(f) learned that the opportunities to interview on campus in the next year will be markedly diminished.
And that’s it for this week’s Fridays From the Frontline. As the final few months of classes go forward, and the weather warms, we hope that first, second and third years all find a little time to take in the sun and fresh air even as they prepare for exams. Until next week, have a great weekend!
